Tyrone C. Wade is the Mecklenburg County attorney. The County attorney also serves as the chief compliance officer and HIPAA privacy officer. 

The Office of County Attorney is an internal legal office of the County, comprised of the County attorney, sr. deputy County attorney, deputy County attorney, assistant County attorney, managing attorney, senior associate and associate attorneys, along with paralegals, support staff and legal assistants.

The purpose of the Legal Office is to provide internal day-to-day legal counsel to Mecklenburg County management and staff through direct and ready access to full-time, in-house legal staff.
